LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Demonstrate an understanding of science and engineering concepts, processes and thinking skills in early childhood educational contexts.
- Explain the fundamental significance of science and engineering to young children’s development, play, dispositions, and curriculum design in early childhood contexts.
- Analyse and apply contemporary approaches to inquiry-play-based pedagogies which promote children’s understanding of engineering and science knowledge, thinking skills, and dispositions.
- Analyse and apply knowledge and skills to document and design engaging inquiry-play-based science and engineering curriculum provisions for young children.

For this assessment task, you will need to create a multimedia presentation on science provision in early childhood and the four (4) science concepts presented in this subject.
Your multimedia presentation must include:
A five (5) minute presentation that provides an overview and justification for the provision of science learning opportunities in early childhood; and outlines science concepts, processes and thinking skills in young children.
Five (5) x three (3) to five (5)-minute intentional and purposeful inquiry-play-based teaching segments, engaging young children with the following aspects of science:
Biology for 0–2-year-olds
Earth for 2-3-year-olds
Space for 3-4-year-olds
Chemistry for 4-5-year-olds
Physics for 5-6-year-olds
